Knowing The Cell Phone Camera Terms
Camera is surely an important part of cell phones these days. There are many that decide to buy a cell phone because of the camera feature alone. However, there are so many terms available for this camera feature which may confuse the users. Therefore I try to share several camera terms in this article so you can know about the terms and then can decide clearly which feature that you intended when buy a camera cell phone.
Here the cell phone related camera terms to be knowing:
Camera
Camera is refer to Photo (picture) documentation feature which a must for multimedia cell phones. Usually, the cell phone camera also supports for video recording – to record the moving pictures.
Auto Focus
Auto focus is a feature that usually installed into digital camera. Auto focus is used to lock the object focus so the photo quality is as intended. Auto focus offers automatic focus locking for better photo quality.
Fixed Focus
Fixed focus refers to ideal distance photo taking base on focus point that fixed set by the camera vendor. This features can not be customized by users since it is fixed.
Pixel
Pixel is refers to the smallest image dimension on the digital format. Pixel is the points that combine to create a digital image. More points (pixels) means that the quality is better – sually, the images looks sharper and more solid.
Resolution
Resolution is maximum pixel length multiplied by width. In other words, resolution refers to pixel amount on the certain size (X-Y dimension). Higher resolution means better image quality/photo result.
ISO Speed
ISO stands for International Standard Organization. In term of cell phone camera, the ISO related term that used is ISO Speed. ISO speed refers the standard that use to determine the film sensitivity and light amount that needed by camera to take a picture. Lesser the light means more ISO speed that needed.
Flash
Flash is refers to flash light – a feature that provides additional light for camera. A flash is a big help to take picture on the less light condition. There are two cell phone flash types available these days which are Xenon Flash and LED Flash.
Xenon Flash
Xenon flash is a flash light that similar as like blitz lamp. Xenon flash offers more light if compare with LED Flash. As compensation for more light, the energy required is big.
LED Flash
LED flash is a flash light that use regular diode. LED Flash need less energy but the light is not as bright as Xenon flash. However, LED flash is good enough as long as the condition is not too dark.
Geotagging
Geotagging is a feature to tag a photo result base on the location. Using this feature, a picture can be tagged by using GPS. With this geotagging feature, users can know the location and time for a photo.
