HTC Wildfire Cell Phone
HTC Wildfire cell phone is a social networking cell phone. This cell phone rely to FriendStream function as “collector” for the friend’s social networking stream such as Facebook, Flickr, Plurk, and Twitter. Unfortunately, the FriendStream is not integrated in HomeScreen for default but users still can add it into HomeScreen manually. Beside the FriendStream, this cell phone is also equipped with Peep (for twitter) and Plurk. With HTC Sense feature, the Facebook or date birthday of caller can be showed.
HTC Wildfire cell phone has 7 HomeScreen panel as default – 3 panel at the left of prime panel is for Mail, Messages, and Weather and 3 panel at the right of prime panel is for Favorites, News, and one empty panel that can be used as needed. Users can read word and pdf document by using Quickoffice and PDF viewer. There is the News application that can be used to follow the latest news base on chosen topic. Users also can use Stocks application to monitor the stock market. For fun, there is Desk Clock (World Clock, Alarm, Stop Watch), Timer, and flashlight.
HTC Wildfire cell phone is completed with FM Radio. Since there is no internal antenna, users need to plug the earphone if want to use FM Radio feature. The FM radio facility is Mute/Unmute, Mono/Stereo, Speaker/Headset, and Scan/Save. To completely shutdown the radio, users need to push the power icon at top right corner. The combination of Google Maps and GPS use for photo geo-tagging which can be share with Footprints. There is data transfer feature which is useful data between cell phones. This feature use Bluetooth technology for data transfer process.
HTC Wildfire cell phone uses Android 2.1 (Eclair) as cell phone operating system. Android 2.1 supports Java so users can install any java application in this cell phone. The Camera and Camcorder icon is divided but the mode moving is still fast from hidden menu at left of window. When open, the window will be shown at landscape mode. There is no camera button so users must use optical joystick to use the photo feature. Unfortunately, this optical joystick disturb the photo taking while in portrait mode since the position is too under.
The camera focus point can be changed by pushing the screen at the intended position. At camera mode, if the focus point is already focus, the camera can take picture automatically. However, this feature can not work at Comcorder mode. Users need to push the ‘+/-’ button at the right of window to activate the zoom function. Zoom will be deactivated when the recording is in the process. The flash seems not very helpful in dark condition. The photo quality is low for dark condition. Also that, the flash can not work at the video mode.
The settings are Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Sharpness, Effect (7 option), white-balance, metering mode, duration review, Flicker adjuster, auto focus, shutter sound, and reset to default. The camera is 5 MP with ISO (maximum 800), quality feature, self-timer, geo-tagging photos, time stamp, and grid. For Comcorder, there is resolution (maximum CIF 352×288), encoding type, recording length (no limit), and record with audio. The photo result can be directly uploaded to Facebook, Flickr, Peep, Picasa, or Plurk. The video result can be directly uploaded to YouTube.
The Photo and Video can be sent through Bluetooth, Gmail, Mail, and Messages. The album can show photo that saved in Facebook and Flickr. For design, HTC Wildfire cell phone is a big version of Nexus One cell phone with additional optical joystick as replacement for the trackball. The screen is 3.2 inches, 240×320 pixels, TFT capacitive touch screen. At below the screen, there are 4 haptic buttons which are home, menu, back, and search. The power button can be found at the top right.
The casing at behind is plastic, rubber, and metal combination. For color options, there is black, white, and red. The casing is sheathing model which similar with HTC HD Mini cell phone. The casing can be opened by tearing out the line hole at body top. There is a micro SD slot that hidden behind the casing. If the casing is opened, the slot can be found bottom left of body. The micro USB port can be found in opposite direction. The camera in body behind. Speaker is in the left of the camera. There is a two-way volume button at the right top body. There is 3.4 mm audio jack in left top body.
The battery is Li-Ion 3.7 V 1300 mAh which offers 5 hours talk time and 4 days standby time. For network, HTC Wildfire cell phone supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and HDSPA/WCDMA 900/2100 MHz. For internet connectivity, this cell phone supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G, and WLAN.

I want t clarify that in video mode the flash can work by just clicking the rhythm up icon
