LG GW620 Cell Phone
LG seems also into Android. It is proved by LG GW620 cell phone which use Android as operating system (OS). This cell phone use Android 1.5 Cupcake and try to attract market with its fresh look. LG GW620 cell phone is equipped with both of touch screen and QWERTY keypad which able to be slides. It is surely a new touch for Android cell phone because almost the whole Android cell phone only provide touch screen with the minimum button. The keypad is big enough and soft. The material is plastic which give comfortable feeling when touch it. Beside the alphanumeric button, there is also navigation button in below right.
When the slider is closed, the look seems simple. The screen dominate the front looks in that condition. Beside the screen, there are two haptic buttons and a physical button in below. With dimensions 109×54,5×15,9 mm, this cell phone looks tiny in the hand. The plastic material which is used, seems strong and sturdy. In around of this cell phone, there are some additional buttons. In right side, there is camera shortcut button, music player button, and microSD slot. It up side, there is on/off/lock button and audio jack port 3.5 mm. In left side, there is volume controller and micro USB slot.LG GW620 uses resistive 3 inch touch screen. The benefit of resistive touch screen is that users can operate it with finger, nail, or stylus.
The screen display seems sharp because of 256 thousands color and 320×480 pixel supporting. It surely support homescreen display to optimum. The homescreen has 3 window. There are 2 homescreen themes as choice. Users only need to push execution button in middle and then choose “Set Home Theme”. The changing of homescreen theme also change the whole icon. As personalize, this cell phone allows users to add the shortcut icon, widget, folder, and wall paper in to homescreen. Users only need push long the screen. The “Add To Homescreen” table will be appear and users able to choose what they want to add in to homescreen.
In prime homescreen, there are four fix icons which are dialer, contact, messaging, and menu. In upper side, there is notification page which able to be drawn. Users able to see all of applications and features that currently use or already used. It is the useful feature to do monitoring. As example, to monitor downloading status. In interface menu, there are 5 icon which categorize be Communication, Multimedia, Utilities, Google, and Downloads. The category title is changeable. Users only need to push screen in the title. The rename group will be appear, type the new name, and then push OK.
The Screen is equipped with accelerometer feature which is used to change portrait mode to landscape mode. The screen automatically become landscape mode if the keypad is out shifted. In contrary, the screen automatically become portrait mode if the keypad is in shifted. This landscape mode is useful for internet browsing. As I already mention before, LG GW620 use Android 1.5 Cupcake as operating system (OS). Android Market is integrated with this cell phone which allows user to download the third party application. Users also able to download many good games trough this Android Market. And all of this downloading is for free.
Users is suggested to use unlimited internet service while use this cell phone because many built in internet application (such as facebook, email, twitter, or news) automatically updating in to internet. Since Android is cell phone operating system from Google, users able to synchronize their cell phone to other Google services such as calendar, Google Talk, and Google Map – only needed a Google Account for it. This cell phone also support push mail feature so each new email will be automatically updated. Users also can use Moxier for email service. Moxier is Microsoft email service which able to be synchronized with Moxier Contact, Moxier Task, and Moxier Calendar.
For Multimedia, LG GW620 has many features in it. There is a camera, media player, music player, video editor, and radio FM. This cell phone is equipped with 5 MP Camera which is supported by auto-focus and LED Flash. The Photo quality is enough – yeah, not so high quality but it is enough for a cell phone camera. The FM radio feature has auto-search facility which allows users to search frequency easily. There is no internal antenna so users must use handsfree as antenna. And not only that, there is no feature to hear radio trough speaker. The speaker can be used while play music by use music player.
LG GW620 use Li-ion 1500 mAh battery which give 8 hours talk time for 2G network, 7 hours talk time for 3G network, 600 hours standby time for 2G network, 500 hours standby time for 3G networks. This cell phone support HDSPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps, EDGE class 10, GPRS class 12, WiFi 802.11 a/b, BlueTooth v.2.0 with A2DP, microUSB, and Audio Jack 3.5 mm as connectivity. For the network, this cell phone support HDSPA/GSM 850/900/1800/1900. For memory, this cell phone is equipped with 150 MB internal memory which can upgradeable up to 32 GB trough microSD slot.
