Nokia X6 Cell Phone
Nokia X6 cell phone is one of the Nokia music cell phones series. This cell phone still use the same design with the other Nokia X series – the combination of firm line and angle design. However, not like the other X series, Nokia X6 cell phone is non slider cell phone. This cell phone is a bar cell phone with domination of touch screen. The screen is 3.2 inches 16M colors 360×640 pixels TFT capacitive touch screen. The capacitive touch screen is more comfort than resistive touch screen in the old Nokia X series.
However, since there is no proximity censor in it, the resistive technology become a nuisance when in calling. To avoid this issue, users is suggested to shut down the screen right after the calling is connected. It can be done by using the lock screen option or the lock button. There are three homescreens choice which are basic, shortcut bar, and contacts bar. At shortcut bar and contact bar mode, there are 4 shortcut icons which can be used base on users need. Some of the running application also can be showed in homescreen such as Email or music player.
The accelerometer technology allows automatic screen display changing between landscape and portrait mode. This technology is also helpful to use other application such as web browsing or Facebook. There is a virtual QWERTY feature for easier SMS typing. There are three buttons at below of the screen which are dial call, end call, and menu button. In above the screen, there are haptic multimedia bar button and video call camera. At the top, there are on-off button, micro USB port, audio jack 3.5 mm, and charging port.
At behind, there is a camera with 2 flash. At the right body, there are camera button, volume control, and lock screen. At the left, there are 2 speaker and a SIM card slot. It is tricky enough to release SIM card – it is needed to release the battery first before the battery is able to release. Now let’s talk about the multimedia features. Nokia X6 cell phone is a music cell phone indeed. There is music library which grouped by artists, albums, genres, and composers. The music sound is high quality which offer the round and clear sound.
The sound quality is still good when volume is set to maximum. Users is allowed to control the sound base on music genre by using the equalizer feature. There are five default music genre choices available which are pop, rock, jazz, classical, and bass booster. Users is also allowed to create their own equalizer setting by using new preset equalizer facility. Nokia X6 cell phone also offer another music features through Radio FM. Radio FM only can be used by using hands-free since there is no external antenna available.
The camera is 5 MP camera which is completed with Carl Zeiss optics, auto-focus, Dual LED flash, and video light. For camera mode, users can set the color tone, white balance, exposure, light sensor, contrast, and sharpness. The photo quality should be great with all of this feature but that’s not happened. The photo quality is bad enough in my opinion. Indeed, Nokia X6 cell phone is not a photo cell phone but a music cell phone. The music store with “comes with music” feature prove it. This “comes with music” is a great feature from Nokia that allows users to download music free for first one year.
The “comes with music” feature offer the music content catalog that contains many various of musics such as jazz, blues, hip hop, soul, funk, indie, and grunge. This feature offer music download up to 3 millions song. To download the song, users only need to music store application and then follow the registration step. Beside through the cell phone, users also can download the music directly through PC/Laptop as long as there is the Nokia OVI player installed. Users is allowed to burn some of the songs (depend of the option) into CD up to 10 times.
However, the songs are not shareable since it is protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management). The Nokia OVI player application only can be installed for one PC/Laptop. This is to protect the copy right. Beside the great “comes with music” feature, Nokia X6 cell phone also offer the internet applications such as Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Friendster, Hi5, Amazon, and Accu Weather. There is no external memory facility for this cell phone but the 16Gb internal memory capacity is already enough as storage in my opinion.
This Nokia X6 cell phone support multitasking for some of its application. However, there is no shortcut to shutdown the application. Users need to shutdown the application through option menu. The battery is 1320 mAh which offer 8 hours 30 minutes talk time for 2G, 6 hours talk time for 3G, 400 hours standby time for 2G, and 420 hours for 3G. For mobile telecommunication network, this cell phone support HDSPA/GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. The processor is ARM 11 434 MHz and the operating system (OS) is Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5.
