If The Android cell phone usually offers the wide screen cell phone, Sony Xperia X10 cell phone offers the not so wide-screen (if can not say as small/mini screen). This cell phone is the mini of Sony Xperia X10 also that the cost is cut in half. Sony Xperia X10 Mini is surely the competitor of Low End BlackBerry cell phone, BlackBerry Gemini cell phone. This cell phone live up the “small is beautiful” phrases for sure. The exterior seems tiny and looks beautiful at hand – looks more simple and concise.

The dimensions are 83x50x16 mm with 88 gram as weight. In my opinion, Sony Xperia X10 Mini cell phone fits with stile lover but surely does not fit with internet lover. It is because the screen is so tiny which not comfortable for internet browsing but perfect as style cell phone. The screen is 240×320 pixels 16 millions color 2.55 inches TFT capacitive touch screen. Some of the applications and games at Android Market can not run perfectly at this tiny screen. There are only three buttons in front which heave in silver color. The buttons are back, home screen, and widgets shortcut button.

At the side part, there is volume controller, camera shortcut, key lock button, on/off button, charger port, and jack audio 3.5 mm. At the back, there is 5 MP auto-focus with LED flash camera. As interface, the capacitive technology at touch scree is comfortable enough. The menu choosing process can be done smoothly as well as widgets using. At the standby menu, there are four shortcut icons – at the corner of screen exactly. The function is to call, send SMS, see the call history, and insert to music feature. Widgetizing as well as personalizing can be done easily through touch screen.

There is no keypad which mean this Sony Xperia X10 Mini cell phone depends entirely to the touch screen function as user interface. Users only choice is the virtual alphanumeric keypad in it. The bad is that the accelerometer feature almost can not work so users can not do automatic change for photo mode. Google Mobile Services (GMS) is available for this cell phone which mean that this cell phone is always synchronized with users’ Google Account. The Google application that built-in this cell phone are Gmail, Google Contact, Google Calendar, and YouTube.

As Android cell phone, Sony Xperia X10 Mini cell phone is integrated with Android Market in where users can download many free application for their cell phone. However, as I already mentioned before, many applications from Android Market can work perfectly due to the tiny screen of this cell phone. The camera quality is good enough. The color and sharpness are good both for outdoor and indoor photo result. However, there are not many choice for camera mode. There are only auto, macro, twilight, and sports.

For audio player, the sound quality of speaker is good – the music and vocal is harmonic. Users also can use Radio FM facility to enjoy their favorite music. There is no built-in external antenna so users should plug the hands-free before use this facility. The search facility will run automatically when users tap the radio icon. The Li-Po battery is quite weak. It only offers 2 hours talk time and 2 days standby time. The talk time is surely very short for the Android cell phone. Sony Xperia X10 Mini cell phone support GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and HDSPA 850/1900/2100 MHz.

The operating system (OS) is Android OS 1.6 with processor Qualcomm MSM7227 6000 MHz. Memory external is up to 16 GB Micro SD.
